hello.I finally got around to asking how come when i turn my stock jbl premium sound all the way on high,It will not go too high at all.I have to close my windows so it sounds normal. Is my amp behind the back seat blown? How do i get it to play loud.I mean i don't want to blow out my neighbors,I just want it normal.I think when the bars on the radio volume are half way,it should be enough.I have to put mine all the way up.All the speakers sound really good.i it just won't go high volume. Is there a way to test the amp,to see if its working? Can I just buy an amp at a audio store to replace the big one behind the seat?thanks for all the help on this forum. It's great info.I have a 1995 3.2 atx wit jbl premium sound system

well like all stock car stereos, the deck has 'protection' built in...it automaticaly turns down the bass so it doesnt blow the speakers. there is not much in the way of holding back the sound...it either works or doesnt really. the stock JBL system is great sounding compared to most stock.

come to think of it, your stock sub is most likely unplugged, because its blown...that will leave something to be desired in the sound wave department!
