Has anyone had this happen to them before?

For some reason, it keeps snapping throttle cables, and I know it is due to voltage because the break is burnt as opposed to frayed.

Would a crack in the DIF module have anything to do with this?...because I also have one of those (I got it replaced at Ford last summer)

Help would be appreciated!

The throttle cable has no voltage flowing through it. It may be rounted wrong causing it to be in contact with something hot, in turn, causing the burt breakage problem. But, it is not due to voltage.

You either have a bare electrical wire rubbing against the throttle cable or no ground strap installed to the upper bolt on the rear, passenger side intake manifold bracket.

thanks (once again) for your help.

I know for a fact that I don't have any "miscellaneous" wires floating around, but I am not sure about the ground strap on the intake.

Are there any pictures floating around of this strap so I could compare mine? Unfortunately, I am the only SHOwner in my area at the moment.

On a side note, my ignition module is covered by a 12 month parts & labour warranty from Ford (it was replaced last July), so tomorrow looks like a good day indeed as far as free parts go!
After looking at some invoices obtained from the previous owner, the ignition module was replaced in June 2001 as well!

Imagine three ignition modules in as many years, and less than 20,000 miles!

Someone is making some money somewhere on these cars!

true Doug, and overall, I would have to say that the SHO has been among the more reliable of the cars I have owned over the years.

ok, I found the strap, funny how I have never noticed it before.

I will clean the connections tomorrow, perhaps even rout the strap to a new ground and see what that does.

:)
