Vids from this weekends autocross

Vids of my 3rd (and only clean) run from today's meet. The course was incredibly tight and clean runs were very hard to come by. Did OK, finished 27th overall with a 57.0XX (of around 170 entrants I think). I actually ran a 56.2XX my first run but I hit one f*cking cone, d@mmit! Top time was a 50.*** in a F1 "go-cart". "Real car" top times were in the 53-54 sec range IIRC. Figures, the course designer was a F1 driver so clearly some bias for smaller vehicles there!

Went with softer springs this time (450/350) since the car is so light (2,720 lbs.) and I think that made a difference of maybe half a sec. The Koni's just couldn't keep up with the 550/450 combo I had previously. Also removed the fronts strut tower brace which IMO makes the front too stiff and makes the car "push".

Yea, today was a blast, apparently the sun crept up on me and burnt the shit out of my face ....It hurts to poke it I should have thought to wear sunblock .

In other news, I saw a lot of sweet cars today, someone accused fred's SHO of being turbo'd and a lot of slow STi's, Evo8's and Skylines. We'll see how bad I am though when I race next time.

I didn't realize there was audio, you can hear some by standard saying "Thats the year they got the Yamaha fuel injection" So I had to go ahead and set him straight. pshhhh.

Where was this event at? It says your in Washington (overclocked) Or do you mean the DC area? I would drag my girlfriend out to one with me to watch. Seems like fun.

WA state, not DC. That one was at the Boeing plant in Everett. There's also a bunch in Bremerton (Bremerton Motorsports Park, which was the old Bremerton Airport field). Here's the main webpage and here is the 2007 schedule.

Wow great driving and great times. Just think, 133 other entrants lost to a Taurus. I love it. Great vids also. Cant wait for further Auto X event results.
