Finally got some time to upload a video of my HID's firing and warming up. They arent as blue as the look in the video and they DO have Hi/Lo like normal head lights. they are 55 watts and gawd are they bright. New housings to go along with them and i really dont need any extra light, they need to be aimed higher but man are the amazing. Thought id share for those who think the headlights suck :snicker: the kits was 60 ish $ and came from DDM tunning.

Here they are:

No thanks. The lighting is awesome but I absolutely hate being on the receiving end of those lights. My S/C 95 SHO came with HID's, they are being removed and replaced with a SUV Lights Harness and some good bulbs.

Yeah, those are purty, but man, they are bright and no fun to be the one coming at them. Bubba has Silver stars in his 93 with HID fogs (pointed at the ground), he was following me once with a load of parts in his trunk and it aimed the lights upwards. I told him, you will never follow me again, those were stupid bright. I still like the fogs though. They are Osram Sylvainia x1010's. and are a little pricey.

They are currently aim so far at the ground that even with the lack of a cut off point it doesn't cause the that issue. the car has been at least 2 front in crashes and the front fascia is REALLY starting to sag from it...

The next thing im trying to do is run HID's in my fogs so i still have all the light i need it will just sit so low it wont matter and i wont have those on unless im alone and im driving wayyyyyyyy to fast. :naughty:

Apparently most people that install these do NOT put the effort to properly aiming them. Yes HID's have no true cut off point but if you aim the lower as the should be due to their design the light the throw up will be no higher than that of good set of halogens and a decent housing. Also i have WAY more issues with light being blinded by the trucks these days.

Also the reason these look so bad in the video is because the front of the car is jacked up about a foot from the ground due the work its getting

My apologizes for people who do not effectively work on their cars. i will get a picture of them being aimed at a wall. I cant do it right now because the car is missing the front hubs, the cars getting wheel bearings LCA's sway bar endlinks moog springs new rotors and ceramic pads and a valve adjustment over the winter break and the moment and is rather un-drive able!

Also for the people who had setups in their cars and had issues with them not having a cut off points were those bulbs Hi/lo bulbs? the set i have physically moves the bulb the produce the Hi/lo effect. Greatly helping the cut off point because the bulbs sit WAY further back in the housing than a stock halogen.

Im hoping to be able to get a setup for Fog lights and depending on bright they are i may return to Halogens and just use the Fogs as driving lights when im out for a spirited night run.And ALONE.

The thing about doing this is that the filament is not in the same place as the original bulb was. So the focus is way off. No ifs ands or buts your are scattering light because of this. You may not notice this when driving but I bet others do.

Any stock headlight without a projector (or cat eye) WILL scatter light no matter if you point it at the ground or not. (even the Euro headlights on my jetta have a cutoff, but if you put HIDs in it, it scatters like ****)

I'd rather have my headlights sitting flush rather them looking like they're misaligned because you have to point them so damn low and STILL have a scattered light.

And FYI, I, like many others in here, work on our own cars and know what we're doing. That's why we don't have HIDs in stock housings. We value our lives as well as the lives of others that we may **** cuz we can't see past your car while passing you in the other direction.

I have been on the receiving end of my car. I was not blinded any worse than any other i can i have been passed my.

And the attack on people not knowing how to work on car's was not directed at you or anyone on this fourm because i you wouldnt be here if you didnt work on your own car. i apologize if it came off that way and i offend you. People who install after market headlights and are done with it and do nothing with the aiming of them are what im talking about.

Im not here to start a ***** fight over how people should work on THEIR cars.
Im done feeding this argument. Good day to you all.

When I put in my HID's I bought new lenses. This helps alot with scatter. Also being lowered 2 inches I get blinded alot by people behind me, mainly trucks and flipping up the rear view really never helps because the side mirrors are like spot lights.

What is the point then?...I appreciate you being aware of the problem for the sake of other drivers but why not aim them correctly and use bulbs disigned for the headlights. With a upgrade harness and good bulbs these headlights work great.

Because with amount of extra light they throw up as we all know it still is plenty of light to drive safely by and when i turn my highs on its just unbelievable amounts of light.
Give me a week and i'll get you all a few pictures of how i have it set up.

HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im going to start a project to produce vacuum formed clear lenses for either projectors or a more HID friendly defuser(the metal shield which the bulb sits inside of to change where the light reflects).
