vibrations at 65mph

I'm new to this forum so have a few things i want to ask about. Thanks for helping me out btw... well here is my problem...
-I got new front tires on my car not too long ago. After i had them changed, and when i drove on the highway, around 65 mph the steering wheel would vibrate. It's not really that noticable if you're not holding the steering wheel, but i notice it i guess because i've had the car so long. I don't know if it could have been something that someone screwed up when changing my tires, or it could be something else. or maybe i just shouldnt worry about it i dont know. But thanks to anyone that can give me some advice.

that's probably due to balance or alignment issues. i would just have them re check the alignment and balance in the front

Vibrations are due to imbalances. They didn't balance the tires very well. Make sure they mount the centering cone on the hub side of the wheel rather than from the outside pointing in.

yes scott, you know the ins of the tire business Also, if you'd like a clean looking balance, have them put a regular lip weight on the inside, and a sticky weight behind the spokes. FWIW,

vibrations=tire
pulling=tire
abnormal tirewear=alignment
steering issues=alignment
cocked steering wheel=alignment

My local NTB lets me help mount the tire and wheel on the balancer and remount them on the car. I have even had several of their guys ask me why I torque them the way I do: star pattern in two stages to 90 lb-ft. No problem with warped rotors here. They are good to me because I usually go through a set of tires each year and they get a chance to match the Tire Rack price before I order. I am on my tenth set of tires on this car.
