Definitely. And hi there, Ron! :)

My old girl looks really spectacular, and the handling is back to exceptional with all the body stiffness back. It had been slipping so slowly, it was hard to feel, but when put back, the change was remarkable. A well spent 10K.

Did you have them add any stiffness (i.e. seam welding)?

Actually, I did not ask them too, but it turns out they did anyway while they had things apart, welding as they put in parts and stepped back out. The owner said he thought I would want everything reasonable done, so he just went ahead with it. The advantage of having a really solid shop and telling them money was not a concern, do it right. Its also worth remembering that the body is very stiff from the factory. Other stiffening aspects are solid sub frame bushings, in effect turning that all into one structure, and a very serious strut tower brace.

I have 20 yrs plus in the Collision industry. The work involved in bodywork (good work no hackers) let alone restoration (like yours) is really hard to find.
Looks nice, if you really want to go nuts, have the shop wet sand it with 1000 to 1500 wet n dry then re-clear it !! Of course it look like glass already.

I am extremely happy with their work, no doubt about it. I do think you have a better bet at a restoration shop than the more common collision and body shop. The restoration oriented people just think about these things a bit differently.

And yes, it does in fact look like black glass already. :) Toward the end of this month I am due back for them to do their post completion check over and polish her up for the summer. I will check then about if John has put together that disk of photos yet for me. I think I will skip the extra layer of clear though. My car budget is already in minor meltdown. ;)
