Does anyone have an idea how much a new VSS should cost? This is second one I've burned though in as many years and I can't remember what I paid last time.

Manual transaxle (MTX)? Automatic (ATX)? Same sensor, but very different installation difficulty. Try checking the auto parts sites listed below for many of your parts needs. AutoZone lists the Wells SU1022 for $14.99.

Doc, I paid about $ 40 +\- at the local Ford dealer about a year ago. 93 ATX

It's a 95 3.2 ATX.

20 bucks at most parts stores.
I hope the sombody putting it in is a friend.
The labor can be costly if they have never changed one before.
