Hey guys... gotta question about the steering racks in our cars.

I know there are VAPS and Non-VAPS racks and Im thinking of replacing the one in my car since is leaking fluid. Question is, are VAPS and Non-VAPS racks interchangable, can I put a normal rack in a VAPS car?

I think I know how to identify a VAPS rack thanks to a pic I saw at SHOSOURCE, but just wanted to know if I can interchange between them.

Also, is there another way to know if my car has a VAPS or Non-VAPS rack other than going under the car and looking at it?

You would need the non-VAPS rack and high pressure line from, say, a 1992 SHO. I'm not sure VAPS was an option on an ATX, I think it was standard.

cool... so that would mean that the ATX SHO uses the same rack as an 92-95 ATX SLO? Or the racks between the SHO and SLO are much different?
