So I'm on my way back from a nice week long break from school when campus safety calls me and says my car has been vandalized. WHAT? yep. Drivers window broken. I didn't have much in there besides a sub and amp and I'll find out tomorrow if they were taken. Luckily I happen to have an extra door sitting around with glass, but still. Driving around with plastic on my window is not going to be fun. Anyone dying to change a car door? Is it an easy afternoon job? aaaarrrruuuugggghhhh!

Kate, sorry to hear that!! I Hate vandals, usually punk kids whose parents should be smacked! Never been inside a G3 doorb but a door is a door. Drivers side is usually the easiest as there is usually a big electrical conn you just unplug & then the 2 hinges. You will need some help to support the new door to get it bolted up & them just some alignment.

It is a lot easier to change a window glass than a whole door. That is if they didn't damage the door. The glass just rivets to the regulator.

is it really changing a door is pretty easy, id think the glass would be harder. However I can only vouch for changing a door not the glass so I could be wrong

If you have a drill and a pop rivet gun (lowes/home depot and advance auto respectively for those), replacing the glass is somewhat easy. Drill out the rivets holding the glass onto the track, then re-rivet...

I used to work at a body shop and had to do crap like this all the time, and will say from personal experience.....changing the door is 5 times easier....

to get to the window assembly, you have to take the door panel off......to take the door off, you take electrical connector off and the door hinge bolts out and its ready to switch.

I hate that shit. Someone busted out my rear drivers side door window one night while I was asleep. Didn't find out until I was about to leave for school. ******** like that just make me want to sit in front of my living room window with a bat.

Well, no, the door wasn't damaged from this- I dented it up pretty bad about a year ago which is why I have an extra door. I just never got around to replacing it.
I got back to campus today. There is glass everywhere! A couple other cars got broken into also, so I know it's not someone out for me. They scratched up the number from the convention and took my cheap amp,(ripped the wires) but left the sub. They musta been walking and couldn't carry the box. I guess it could have been worse. I'll try to tackle that door next weekend. Until then I have a shower curtain taped on my window...
How about a gun instead of a bat? I'll join you.
