Howdy. As some of you know my 89 S/C car has been sitting for weeks waiting to get a new CPS. I finally got at it today and everything went fine till I got to the crank bolt. It's stuck, really stuck. The starter bump did not work or the breaker bar. So I want to cut the ****** off but don't have a spare.

Does anyone in the Vancouver area have one available that I could pick up on Saturday? I don't want to cut the old one off until I have a replacement in hand.

Or does anyone know if there is a alternative bolt that would be suitable?

Sorry Alex, no spares here. :-(

I have a tool that bolts to the crank pulley and creates about a 3 foot long handle to hold the engine from turning while you use the breaker bar against the bolt. Found it at Princess Auto! I'm around on Saturday if you want to pop by and have a look.

Hmmmm.... that tool may be the ticket. I'd love to take a look at it. Thanks Kevin.
Other than the bolt being stuck, everything was going great. After the bolt is dealt with, I think the next hurtle
with be getting the belts tight.

I have 1-2 spares floating around , and I got one from Mike and Kurt not to long ago so Im sure they have a few.

Also I just did 3 sho crank bolts that would not move ( 2 where on stands so no resistance) i got all 3 with a 1/2 snap-on electric impact in less then 5 secs and it did not tear the bolts up very much.

I could use that Snap-on gun right about now. I'm giving it my last shot to move it tomorrow. If it is a fail, then I will cut it and order one from Mike and Kurt.
