Went to take the valves out of a warped head to scrap it and found my Rotunda essential service kit(T89p-6000-A) does not include the Valve Spring Compressor Pivot Bar(T87C-6565-A) needed to compress the valve springs. It states you need to use the 'previously released' tool in the instructions on the lid. So where do I find this piece? Or does anyone have some measurements to just use a steel bar? Thanks!

In a pinch, I used a overly long 1/2" drive extension for your ratchet. I also use 3/8" pipe size iron pipe.

Is it supposed to come in the essential kit, and mine was just missing, or was it always a separate piece? Thanks for the ideas!

In a pinch? I thought it was the standard implement.

No. Just use a long 1/2" extension or anything else that you can fit that won't bend/flex. I've never seen anyone use the "specified" rod, probably because it's completely unnecessary.
