My 93 is in need of valve adjustment. I was looking on SHONUT and saw that the shims them selves were available for rent with a deposit. Does anyone know if you can rent the tools too. Also has anyone used Mark Nunnally's 60k video to do they're valves. What are your comments If you used it or have heard anything about it. God forbid I do this myself...but it is cheaper! lol

They do not rent out the tools and Mark's 60K video is excellent! Once you watch the video, you'll see how easy it is to adjust the valves. I am waiting on my tools and valve shim kit from SHOnut right now. The tools are on backorder.

I just ordered the Tappet Compressor and Tappet Holder from OTC, who apparently make the custom Ford service tools. These are the two wierd non-standard tools that are called out in the service manual for this job. It was under $40 for both tools (total).

Here's the info:

OTC phone# 800 533 6127
Tappet Compressor - OTC part# 303-344
Tappet Holder - OTC part #303-345

You can order these directly from them if you like.
