I've noticed just a hint of a noise or whistle associated with decell that I wasn't aware of during the recent past. Kind of a hard to quantify or pinpoint high pitched moan. I can hear a hiss around the windshield/cowling on the driver side (pic). The car is unmodified and there are no lights or codes. This isn't a normal sound as far as anyone knows is it?1d1dc4555f593b5c8b215c2a8833984b. Thanks for any info.

Is the noise steady in pitch or does it rise/fall with speed? Could be a brake booster line.

Pretty hard to tell, can't even say 4 sure the hiss I hear is related. Lacking a stethoscope I feel like the hiss originates from the lines secured with a tie wrap in my photo.. I would assume that with the level of electronic sensors and monitors in these cars, if there was an issue it will eventually throw a code. I'll just wait and see I guess. Thanks for your reply and any further knowledge u share.

The "lines" secured by the tie wrap in your photo appear to be a wire harness in wiring loom (upper) and what appears to be a coolant line (lower), so neither of those would cause a vacuum sound.

Is there a chance the noise you are hearing is the blow off valve (BOV) for the turbos? On rapid decel the BOV may vent to relieve excess pressure in the intake. It would be very short in duration, and usually in stock trim (un-tuned) the BOV isn't noticeable, but still something to consider.

I have the same issue when my car is idling. Can't seem to pin point it on where it's coming from. I felt around the back and didn't feel no air but it is noticeable unless this is normal for these cars.

If you notice dirt/oil accumulation around the clamps on the turbo piping, the pipe(s) may have a crack in them. Also check all clamps on these pipes are secure.

Sorry it seems so late to re-kindle this, but I am having the same issue, and it is an accel and decel whistle. It will start at 1000 RPM approx. and go through 2K-2500 with a little whistle under light throttle, but if I go into it a bit harder, you won't hear anything. I haven't really tried to do boost leak detection yet or anything, as I am new to the SHO and the forum, but I love my car! Gents and ladies, some closure on this issue would be amazing, and thank you all for reading!
