I never had any CEL because of my catch can setup. I went with the UPR dual valve catch can setup and while I did have some issues that needed to be modified, a check engine light never happened. My issue I believe stems from the fact that I installed a High Volume oil pump when I rebuilt the engine. UPR's CSS that goes in place of the oil fill cap was not able to handle the extra splash inside the valve covers and I was sucking oil on heavy accel. I talked with the guys over there and tried a couple different routings of hoses and angles of dangles to no avail. In the end I plugged off the front part of the UPR catch can and ran a secondary cheapy Amazon catch can off the front valve cover to the intake. Heres a couple pics.
