Has anyone made any changes to there upholstery? I am thinking about getting rid of the fake suede and putting in perforated leather. I don't see the suede staying clean or wearing well.

Neat idea on the perforated leather. I like the way the suede looks, but after a few years and some wear/stains, I bet it won't look so good. I'd prefer solid leather over perforated, but that's just me.

The only reason I was thinking perforated leather is so the cooled seating would still work.

My car has 21000 miles on and is a year and a half old and the umber seats still look new. I don't think I'd worry too much about wear. That said, the perforated leather would certainly look good and be different as well.

I'm looking into doing my headliner and pillars over in black suede to match the seats.

I was gonna do the same thing. I was thinking about leather for the pillars but same idea...

Where were you looking for suede?

Just a local upholstery shop. I have no idea how to do a headliner, especially the visors and sunroof parts.

Just a local upholstery shop. I have no idea how to do a headliner, especially the visors and sunroof parts.

I've done it two cars ago myself. Headliner was pretty easy unless there are a lot of dips in the headliner. Suede does not stretch at all which is why it makes it kind of hard. It turned out really good and it held up for for two years when I sold it. Basically I just pulled the headliner, sprayed the headliner and suede with 3m extra strength adhesive spray, let it tack up for a few minutes, and slowly apply it. I did one area at a time. Tuck the extra material behind it and glue it in place so it doesn't move.

I tried the visors and it was a PITA. It turned out okay, but I would never do them again. I think I would find aftermarket ones if they made them. I am not a fan of the tan interior myself, but I don't have the stones to rip it apart and try it on this car. Not unless I had a set for backup.

I have a '91 Plus and just got off the line with a quote with a local shop. It was going to cost at LEAST $600/seat to redo the stock seats and another $700 for the rear if I get it redone in the factory-style leather (perforated black leather). SOOOOO for about $2000, I can get a seat redo and a headliner. Starting to think that this is NOT worth it. Yes, I know aftermarket may be the answer, but it would be nice if the value of our vehicles started to appreciate.

I would check out katzkin and see if they offer anything yet, they usually have kits for everything if not, they would probably work with you on it so they can develop them.

I don't know if you can find anything but I bought and entire set of Roush leather interior for my 98 F-150 for only 300 dollars of E-bay several years ago. The leather was really nice but it did take some time to take off the old and replace it with the new but the seats were supposed to sell of $2300.00 but got them for off E-bay at a great price.
