I've already done a search. Didn't find any real specifics.

I've got a Gen 2 ATX and am going to change the steel lines from the tranny to the radiator and through the cooler. I'm thinking of bypassing the radiator and then just running the exit line from the tranny (upper steel line), straight through an aftermarket B&M cooler, through an in-line filter, then back to the tranny (bottom steel line in). My questions are:

Does bypassing the radiator make sense with an aftermarket cooler?

What are the specific fittings to make the 3/8" hoses attach at the tranny? (pictures please)

I just add another one and keep the factory one too. It's what I'm going to do!

From what I understand it helps to keep both for extra cooling?

I took two stock ATX coolers and just ran the lines from the tranny, into one, into the other, and back to the tranny......I think I might add a inline filter though.....that would be a good idea.

as for fittings...I can't tell you....cause I ended up just buying some size and I got lucky to where it worked...never looked at the size or anything.

If you live in a colder climate having the tranny lines run through the rad is a good thing; when the car warms up it will then help warm up the tranny fluid, which will change the viscosity of the fluid; thus allowing your transmission to shift the way it should.

if you live in a hot climate, or do lots of towing, having an external cooler as you suggested is a good idea, as tranny fluid does an excellent job of lubricating until it gets burnt. Once the tranny fluid gets burnt, it will start to do damage.
