Hey guys,

I've been dying to do some upgrades to my bone stock '95 MTX, so I figured I would check local first.

Anyone have any upgrades for sale? I'm willing to consider anything you've got. rims/tires/suspension/chips/exhaust/engine/etc

Thanks!

It's been said a million times but maintance before modifications.
Im sure you know about the 60k services but there are some great information found at SHO Phoenix Project , SHOTimes

Performance parts can be found at SHONUTPerformance, Rockauto, Performance-Plus(Local), and SP Motorsports
There's some companies I didn't mention because I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. You can PM me for more infomation.

I didn't say I wasn't going to do maintenance on my car. This is my second SHO and I have been through 1 60k already with the previous car. I WILL be doing that soon to this '95, but I also wanted to get a line out to see what performance parts were available in the area.

Thanks.

Best bang for the buck is the Y-Pipe to start off (if its a standard). i think its turning around 250$.

K&N panel filter (NOT THE CONE) , 80mm MAF mods are pretty common.

More intense HP , you can get Cams , Big bore butterflies with a ported intake and heads.

Or even more , theres always the turbo/supercharger option. wich is not cheap...

My three favorite mods on my SHO are the Quaife, Subframe connectors and y-pipe. I highly recommend the SFC and Y-pipe because they are great mods for the money.

Quafie!!if you can afford one...! lol and ypipe look into a 73mm MAF cuz i think you have to program for the 80s i have a 73 and it did a nice gain in power with the exhaust i also think that mike *correct me if im wrong anyone or if jesse took them* has some cams for sale im not positive about that but maybe he is MAC on here also with hp you need a clutch putting extra hp through a stock pressure plate will cause straps to go cuz the suck in the first place on stock pps flywheels are also fun but lose your launchin abilitys alittle but who launches SHOs anyways most people prefer the spec stage ones or twos i REALLY! like centerforce dual friction the pedal feel is lighter than stock and yet it can still hold like 400hp or something

Question...
Why NOT the cone filter? :oogle:

Its been very well discussed , the cone sucks up all the hot air from the engine. Since hot air has less density , you get less air in your engine for the same amount of volume.

The stock airbox with the cone (in the fender) removed , with a k&n panel filter is the way to go , the stock air box sucks the air through the fender and its only cold air , and its very well made.

Its basicly theorical though , there seems not to have any kinda proof around that to confirm it....there might be a 1hp diff.

??? panels are better than cones it has been tested but the sound of a cone when the secondaires open up is so much better.... which i personally took over the 2 hp gain of the panel

I have a cone filter on my '91. It's not a K & N and it is completely in the fender well. I LIKE IT TOO!!!

As far as K & N goes.....I can take them or leave them. If you clean them properly AND KNOW how to oil them correctly then they can be alright. If you don't do either correctly, they suck! It's less hassle, less time, and less money to by paper.

Just my .02 worth though. Everyone has what they like for a reason......because they like it!
