most clutch sets come with the alignment tool, so buying one would be a waste of money. when i did my clutch, i ended up keeping my alignment tool just in case. if you find you do need one, you can borrow mine.

EDIT: that tool says for workbench assembly. it wouldnt be an essential tool to own, at least for the SHO.

I have several that I have picked up over the years, but when ever I need a new size, I just make it. I use a 1/2" wooden dowel that I just wrap tape around to get the right thickness for the pilot hole and the disc spline (usually two different thicknesses).

**Helpful hint. Drill a hole through the end of the dowel that will be sticking out and tie a stout string onto the dowel. Makes for easy removal once you tighten the pressure plate bolts.
