Need an identification for a long vacuum hose in the engine compartment on the passenger side, but first an introduction since I'm new here...

My name is Jim and I'm from Louisville, KY. I've lurked for some time now, and have never posted because I can always search the forum and find the answers I need. This is a phenomenal place!

I have two Yamaha powered vehicles:
- 1993 SHO 3.2 ATX - green/tan
- 2001 Yamaha Roadstar Midnight Star motorcycle (1602cc) - black/chrome

This last winter I took my time and dropped the engine & tranny. Replaced tranny, full 60k on the engine, new suspension components, aluminum subframe bushings, detailed engine compartment while it was out, etc.

It's all back together now and runs, however, I have an unidentified long vacuum hose the comes out of a plastic junction connector just behind the shock tower on the passenger side. It has some kind of plastic filter (?) inline that has a flow arrow on its housing that points back to the junction on the firewall.
Where does this route to? I have it plugged-up for now. See pics...

Pic 1 - shows the length and source of hose (44" long):

Pic 2 - shows the vacuum junction connector where the hose source is located (behind passenger side shock tower):

Pic 3 - just shows the inline filter (if that's what it is):

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Hmmmm... my guess is the line that goes to the vacuum storage tank in the fender.

Welcome BTW.

Excellent guys! The washer fluid reservoir sounds reasonable, as the hose is right at the length for that spot.

I'll check it out tomorrow.
