was removing/cleaning cables on the solenoid after my starter issues as per the thread i started here last night.. and after tightening everything back up, i'm not getting any power at all now.

voltage 12+ at the batt and connectors. ditto at solenoid..

when i check voltage at the spade connector (+ side of voltmeter tester to spade) i only get a reading (12+) when i connect the negative tester end to the side of the solenoid that does not have the ground strap. and then the reading comes out as (-)12+

does this mean i crossed the solenoid wires accidentaly? wouldent i have heard a fuse pop?

should i be checking the fuses if i did, and would crossing them necessarily blow a fuse or cause sparks to fly etc..

i disconnected the battery before starting any work.

thought i'd check in before i cross them now intentionally trying to get juice back to the car (no interior, clock radio nothing works now)

Make certain all the smaller wires are on the same lug as the main battery cable. If you put them on the wwrong lug of the starter solenoid, you'll have ZIP for power.

Don't ask me how I discovered that.....

hrmm.. i switched them up and still have zip for power.

the ground strap bolt gets the (-) batt feed then and the non ground strap bolt gets from the (=) batt feed right? and the spade connetor is obvious. i'm not missing anything am i?

what about the order with the washer.. maybe its not connecting snug? i'm putting washer then nut.

i sprayed a load of electrical connection cleaner in up there so connections shouldent be a prob.
