For my other cars I have always used STP's Premium Complete Fuel System Cleaner (Silver plastic bottle) every 4-5,000 miles. I have read that the direct fuel injection system can cause some extra deposits in the cylinders or valves. What fuel system cleaner should be used for the new SHO?

Thanks

I don't know if there's any special treatments for DI fuel systems, but I know Ford sells a Motorcraft fuel cleaning system. I personally use Lucas Injector cleaner every oil change (3k miles) and have had no problems with it on my Crown Vic and SHO's.

IMO the only fuel system cleaner worth using is Techron. You can either just use gasoline that has it... I think it is Chevron... or you can buy it at the auto parts store for like $7/bottle.

Having said that, I really don't think it is necessary... but that's just me.
