So, if my shifter moves around when I get on/off the gas, does that mean my motor mounts need to be firmer? I can't remember exactly, but I know I welded something into my mounts so I thought they were damn near solid. They were solid enough that I threw away my torque limiter engine shock absorber thingys. Do I need to weld the tranny mount so it's solid also?

Do not make the trans mount solid!

You need to check for engine movement first.

Check to see whether the rubber in the transmission mount is tearing. You might have to put a jack under it and put some tension on it. Also double check the motor mounts.

I *may* still have a spare tranny mount around here somewhere if it turns out that's the problem.
