I waent to turn, and everything just died car has been driven all day just fine. Left dinner and no more then 5 min down the road, the car died we lost everything. I just did the coolant bypass last night, and cleaned the EGR. The front 60 was done this last summer, crank sensor changed, waterpump changed, and all seals replaced. What could this be? I am letting the car cool right now to see if it is the crank sensor. IF so I can deal with that. Is there anything else that I should be worried about? Thanks all help is appicated.

how're your connections on your DIS? Ergo, how're your subframe bushings?

By everything, do you mean lights and all, or just engine stuff?

DIS was the first thing i check, all is tight. and it was just the engine stuff. I still had light and all accessories. Subframe feels tight.

what's the tach do when you try to start it? checked for fuel pressure? believe it or not, I've had my emergency fuel cutoff trip hitting a bump on the highway...

Just went and tried, the car started for just a second and died. the tach goes up like it should for a normal start. Could this be a fuel pump related issue. is if the fuel pump died?

easiest way to tell is to listen for the pump to prime just before you try to start the engine. Kick the key forward to the "on" position without starting...you should hear a high pitched whine coming from somewhere behind you/under the car. If that noise isn't present, take a pen or a screwdriver, open your hood, unscrew the lil black cap that's sticking up between the runners revealing a Schrader valve. depress the valve (with your head well away) and see if fuel sprays up to the hood liner. If it don't, there's a fuel delivery issue that should probably be looked into.

I have pressure at the schrader valve. when depressed it sprays. The car is now cool and still will not start.

what's the engine sound like while cranking? does it sound normal, or does it seem to be spinning faster? also, when you try starting it, floor the throttle and make sure it's not flooded.

Check your IGN COIL fuse... A shorted sensor in the coolant overflow tank will leave an ATX dead in its tracks with a "no spark" condition.

Tried flooring it, with no luck. It sounds like it is trying to start normal to me.

a strong possibility, but i'm not absolutely certain on it. unless his water pump's leaking, there's no reason for it to fail, and it sounds like it's a fairly well maintained car.

I turned out being a ground wire that was broken. I had to create a makeshift ground wire from the DIS after powdercoating. Cause the person painted the dis mount. I notice it was disconnect when I popped the hood to run the CEL codes. I reconnected and the car started right up and then tried pulling it and we had a repeat of last night. So I took a new piece of wire, terminated it, and we now a perfect starting car again.

the great thing about these cars is it's almost always something incredibly simple or horrifically catastrophic. glad she's better.
