Yes it does. I replaced my rear turbo at Ford with a new one and was charged a core charge of $250. They're wanting it back because you won't be using it anymore and they can use it as a re-manufactured unit for someone else.New turbo has a core?
I thought only reman turbos require a core.
At least that's how alternators used to work when I worked at the parts store years ago.
All core charges irritate me a bit. But I guess the choices are to buy it with the core charge or don't buy it at all. There isn't much you can do when you need the part.Never been charged a core for a new part. I'd feel a little irritated about that myself, especially for a high value part.
