Does anybody have an opinion or has anyone used the bittersweet sho turbo. I know the Stage one kit is a waste of time cause the injectors are too small and its not intercooled but how about the other ones.

he will take your money, and not send the kit to you.

BTW, stock injectors can be used on a low psi kit. that is, you can use them with a rising rate FPR. Also, a intercooler is always a good idea, but when the psi of the blower is only 6-9lbs its not needed

Try a search for turbo .... you'll find everything you need.

he is not asking for infor to build a kit. he wants to buy one and bolt it on. unfortunetly sir this is no such kit to my knowledge. there are a few people on the forums that would be willing to build you a kit.

how much you ask? your looking around 4K pretty much.

yeah 4k is crazy

Consider the cost of buying everything brand new (which would be something I'd look for in buying a kit. I wouldn't want used parts if I were paying for a kit), the cost of supporting mods, and proper tuning, and $4k doesn't sound bad at all.

Don't forget that with any SHO, ATX or MTX, with forced induction, you'll eventually need transmission work.

You'll have to excuse our cars for not having the vast aftermarket Civics and F-bodies enjoy.

Just wondering. Not saying it's impossible because I have quite a bit for the same price, but not turbo parts.

I can promise you if you use good quality parts it will cost at least 4K. can it be done cheapier? absolutly. but 4K is a pretty good idea of what your getting into. **** a good turbo alone is about 1K. and a good inter cooler is atlest 300. thats only 2 parts of the hundreds you need to make it work. those "nickle and dime" parts really do add up.

My current turbo cost around $1500 retail, and it is far from the most expesive you can get. 4k for a 'complete' turbo setup would be difficult to do. We have had these threads countless times. Do it correctly, it will cost you some dough. Do it half-arsed and have fun with your big paper-weight!

hahaha yeah.... id been nickle and dimed to death on "cheap projects" before... i had all the major parts then i found i needed a lil nut here a coupler there some weld here a beer there lol it does add up, but with some good long shopping around you can do it for cheap, no doubt about it, i mean look at mine! lol now if i add up the prices for everythig on mine id have to guess, 440 for the turbo, 69 for teh bov, fmu??? guess?? dunno 100-200 buck range, then lets see here 150 bucks in weld/couplers and some heat wrap... 859 max for mine if i didnt rape my other cars for parts lol... all in all i only spent like 150-200 bucks MAX on my setup, but most ppl dont have a garage full of spare parts like i do lol.

well heres what you do. download open office 2.0

then download this file and open it:
http://www.sonikempire.com/hotrodkid/zzz/Formula Spreadsheet_fixed 4.ods

its a spreadsheet thats been broken down into sections like tubing, fuel system, bolts, metal stock (for brackets and such)

you can edit part names and their decsription, and also part count and price

for example mandrel bends, you think you need 3 of a size now, but later you realize youll need 4 of that size, use price EACH in the price column, and all you have to do is change the COUNT from 3 to 4 . grand total is instantly recalculated for ya

right now, tax is automaticly calculated and added to all items, if a part has no tax, but does have shipping, change the tax to 0 for that item, and type in the shipping cost instead. it will add it to the total for you

once you get the hang of how it works, start researching and start plugging in your own parts. feel free to look at what others have done on here and use their setups as a guide

i know nothing of either...my last car was a 93 probe gt..the aftermarket is about the same as the sho,and it cost me 1200 to make...you dont NEED a brand new 300 bov,buy someones used one for half the price..same with the wastegate..the only advantage i had, ebay sells a turbo hot pipe set for 200 dollars(tubular headers, hotpipe, and downpipe)..i do agree the turbo should be new..the intercooler...ebay,100 dollars i've YET to see one fail..the turbo's are hit and miss..there's been several guys on PT who've been fine for a couple of years..and some not so lucky:salute: ...its all in were you source your parts from,if you can do the work yourself...and who you know:biggrin:

I have been considering a turbo setup for my SHO for some time now, however, I would be interested in seeing a diagram of how everything bolts up in the order of induction to exhaust, plus electronics.

I have never had the chance to see a complete install, so I am somewhat confused as to where everything goes. It would be useful to see a complete list of the necessary items needed and where they go in relation to each other.

I would be interested in a low boost setup, using stock short block components.

exhaust side..
manifolds--y collector-- WG--turbo(turbine/hot side)--down pipe

intake
filter--MAF--turbo(compressor/cold side)--charge pipe/intercooler/charge pipe/bov--T-body.

Yeah, it can be done much cheaper with used parts. But, the fella is asking for a kit. A kit needs to be reproduceable, and have everything a person needs to complete said project. Normally a person asking for a kit doesn't have all the fabrication skills necessary to build their own.

If a vendor of any sort wants to be reputable and have repeat business, they need their kit to be replicable and consistant. The only way to do this, and the only way that makes good business sense, is to offer all new parts. This, of course, is SO much more expensive than taking your time, buying a couple of used parts here and there, etc. Comparing a true "kit" to a home-built, budget setup like you described and their cost isn't fair at all.
