well i posted a while back about a turbo or supercharged sho motor in a 240sx. ive decided to go with a turbocharged application. i was wondering would a twin turbo set-up be worth it. this will all of course be put in a 240sx. i have the motor now it is a 3.2L and the t-5 is on the way. still looking for that aerostar bellhousing.

it is a company it stands for "North East Sho"

I can tell you from expierence that 2 turbos are not needed but if you want it to boost like audi you will need 2. i'm running a single turbo automatic SHO and it is a blast to drive and in a light 240sx not having boost till 3K might be benifical (assuming you used a PT67 like me)

Yes. the twin turbo would work just fine. You can draw air through a single MAF and then split it to the two turbos. The output of the turbos can then be joined to enter an intercooler or kept separate and cooled by smaller water-to-air intercoolers.

If you have this separate charged air pipes, run them through separate throttle bodies into the end tanks. You just need one TPS sensor for the computer to understand how far you've planted your foot.

have you priced turbos?

Look to spend about a grand on each snail, then factor that into your decision.

LS1 + 240sx = secks

If you haven't found or bought the turbos yet, the little ones that came on the Dodge turbo'd 4 bangers are an excellent choice.

They're cheap, came on a lot of different vehicles, they have built-in waste gates that are controllable, and the are in a small package. They'll spool quickly behind the SHO motor.

That is going to be a cool car, and blindingly fast. You will not be able to keep from smokin them rear rubbers. Be careful.

lol sorry couldnt help but laugh. ive priced many turbos for many different set ups and owned many different types. i had 2 ka-t set ups for this car. your price of 1 k per turbo is extremely steep. im not going for cost efficient here im going for different and of course all out fun. ls1 + 240sx = 6k easy

the turbos from a srt-4 themselves would not work they are built into the manifold. what other cars did they come on? im still doing researching on the turbo side as to which i would like to go with though. yea this car will be very fast especially with the built 3.2TT sho motor. im seting up the rest of the car to handle the new power it will have especially a new set of rubber to keep her planted. ill be updating with pictures next week. and when the build begins ill make a thread devoted to the build.

i believe what he was refering to was the old turbo dodges not the srt-4's.. the old turbo dodges used small t3 turbos and oftian are used in tt 5.0 projects as you can get them from 25 bucks a peace to no more than 150... and theres 10's of 1000's of turbo dodges in the junkyards/there turbos on ebay.... if i was gonna do a cheap street tt sho id consider the turbo dodge turbos as they should spool up good and you should be able to make around 550hp with 2 of them depending on which year car u get the turbos off of since some had smaller others had bigger.... goto www.turbododge.com and read up they have lots of good info. p.s. a turbo dodge=a car from like 84-91 give or take a couple years. (my turbo dodge infos a lil rusty.) thats all for now :p hope this helped a lil.

If you find an extra bell housing, I'll buy it from you.

No you didn't. It's gotta be from an '86 or an '87, and a 3.0 with a manual transmission. There are none on car-part.com
