During an extended highway w.o.t pull up to 170mph, I've see my coolant temps with 160 tstat go from 188. (normal temp) to 157 by the end of the pull. Normal 70ish degree night. I've also noticed temps drop drastically during some high way races. The longer you stay in it, the cooler it gets.

Could that just be the result of the tune turning on the fans versus the tstat itself

It is a result of the change to fan behavior yes. The only passive change that counts after the initial warm up is the radiator, and I have not seen anyone change that out ... yet.

Amazing. My experience was just the opposite although I never went 170 MPH. Maybe the ultra high speed with more air flowing through the radiator cooled it down. In the quarter mile, I would gain 15-20 degrees of temp from starting line until the finish line. Even on the highway, a WOT passing maneuver from 50-80 MPH would raise the temps a few degrees.

The primary difference for me at the track was with the stock 'stat and fan speed, I would often be at 205 at the starting line if I had to wait in line to stage. With the 160 and adjusted fan speeds, I would be cooler at the start but it still gained a lot of heat as the run progressed. It did cool off more quickly while driving back to the pit area with the 160, though.

I can't find the post right now and it may have been in one of the FB groups but if I recall correctly it was stated that the 160 causes buildup on the valves versus the 180 so best not to use it. Is this possible?

I doubt LME would be selling the 160 if that were the case, but IDK 4 sure.
I've never read anything like that but as a result of my lack of knowledge and command of the facts was unable to comment. Figured you pros would know if there was anything to it .
