TSS - Tough Shit Switch ? ? ? ?

BOO - Brake On/Off Switch

The Brake On/Off Switch (BOO) is located on the brake pedal. The switch is ~6" above the brake pad, and is an odd shaped sensor held in place by a large spring-clip, which has two wires (LG/R and R/LG) running to the top of the switch. I did a quick search of 30-40 threads but could not find an image of the the switch.

You have an MTX, right? Are you referring to the MTX Reverse Lamp switch (aka. Backup switch)?

Pull your codes - if the BOO switch is bad it will set a code.

I suspect that he meant the VSS or Vehicle Speed Sensor. :)

It's on top of the transmission. I believe that he has an ATX. It's a PITA to replace on the ATX and a cakewalk on the MTX.

A bad BOO switch will set a code? Does it set the CE light or just store a code? I had mine go bad but didn't know that it was bad until someone told me that my brakelights were not working. I thought it was only a hot and a ground wire and didn't have anything to do with the PCM.

TSS = Turbine Speed Sensor.

It is located just above the driver's axle on the main transmission cover.

What do you expect? Retail stores seldom deal with any transmission parts except filter/gasket kits. You need to see a transmission specialty shop or a Ford dealer.

The part number is F1DZ7M101A.

Settle down, don't blame them for your lack of knowledge.

Sounds like your tranny may be done.

A bad TSS will make for an erratic shift schedule and hard shifts, and a bad VSS mostly impacts shift scheduling. Starting from a stop in 1st a bad VSS shouldn't matter. You can try disconnecting the VSS altogether and see if that changes anything.

Have you tried manual 1 or 2 to see if that makes any difference?
