FORD: DUE TO EXCESSIVE **** LOSS FROM PTU, OR INTERNAL PTU FAILURE, SOME TRUCKS, WILL EXPERIENCE CONTAMINATION OR SLUDGING OF PTU ****, RESULTING IN AN INCREASED INTERNAL **** TEMPERATURE. MODEL 2011-2014 EXPLORER, TAURUS SHO.

I saw a thread here a few weeks ago about this tsb. I searched for it today and couldn't find it. After hearing some ptu horror stories and seeing what comes out when one is drained. I am concerned about mine (11 non PP 39k miles). Thinking about asking the dealership about this tsb. Anybody know if this would be covered by power train warranty?

Unless you have extended warranty or are under the 5/60 powertrain warranty, costs would likely be out of pocket :(

My dealership will only look into it if there is an issue. Is there something I can tell them to have it done? I have the extended warranty.

There's a Propane smell issue that they will replace the PTU for, its not a TSB but some other type of service advisory
