Just wanted to add my S.H.O. to this problem and make a consolidated thread for it. Links to previous individuals' threads would be good.

The service shop that I stuck with, one that was very honset about avoiding helping me opening a service report because of Lemon Law liability, has stepped forward and said they will apply the other two TSB's. The other two TSB were the brakes and transmission timings in a chip but correct me if that is not accurate. I don't know if they are actually doing me a "favor" but it seems that way. They if fact said that you will not need codes or need to replicate the problem to have the TSB applied.

So I am getting the other two TSB applied but maybe not this one. They said they are looking into it. Should I insist or can I insist all TSB be applied? Are TSB's actually recalls?

I do have the symptoms of this sensor/pin problem with the neutral feeling when accelerating.

S.H.O. is in the shop waiting on backordered brake parts right now. It has been there almost a week. They offered to let me have it back while we wait but I wouldn't drive it anyway.

By the way...
I did have that T-Rex grille removed from my car. Someone had asked for better pictures but they will not be available. The dealership paid to have a new OEM installed and I kept the T-Rex with the cut portion of the original grille so I could put it on the Limited or my S.H.O. again if I ever wanted to and without damage. As for selling it I will probably ask for more that what the T-Rex itself cost. You are looking at cutting your existing grille otherwise. I'm not trying to sell it in this post (not sure that is allowed) but I didn't think it worth another thread so I'm just adding that in here.

I cannot speak to the advantages of having the TSBs performed, but I will attempt to address your questions regarding Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). They are not recalls, the dealer has no obligation to apply these to cars that do not exhibit the symptoms yet, and they likewise have no obligation to perform the repairs identified in the TSBs at no cost if the car is out of warranty. They are simply known solutions for common issues/complaints. One benefit of a TSB is it helps shops with access to the TSBs quickly address certain customer complaints rather than spending hours trying to determine the source.

As for if the dealer needs to replicate the complaint or witness stored codes consistent with the TSB to perform the repair, that is somewhat up to the shop's discretion. If an owner were to bring a car in that is under warranty and complain of symptoms consistent with an existing TSB, but make no mention of the TSB, the shop may opt to perform the work of the TSB even if they are not able to verify the symptoms. However, they may be a bit more hesitant to act if an owner comes in asking for a TSB to be performed when they are unable to duplicate the symptoms, thinking that the owner is just trying to get the shop to perform unnecessary work under warranty. Someone with firsthand knowledge may be able to confirm whether or not a dealer gets paid a reduced labor rate or labor time for warranty work like they do for recall work.
