be sure thats what it is..
the corners where the trunk lid meets the rear window usually crack in the valley and leak in the trunk.

easy fix just body filler or some kind of filler

No rust or cracks to be found, and noticed today that the brackets are rivited in.

There is about an 1in-1 1/2 gap between the glass and rear edge of the trunk lid from were it should be, and from the back edge to the middle of the trunk lid is not flush with the quarter panels, it sticks up. I have tried to adjust it but there is not much adjustment to work with.

You'll have to bend it using the trunk lid.
Or have a competent body shop do it.
I had a similar problem that my body shop fixed on the spot... and didnt charge me.
