I was just thinking does anyone think that the mazda 6 6speed manual would work on the 3.0l and the 3.2l? just thinking that would be nice or what about the contour svt trans is that not the mtx75 ( dont know for sure but if those are better transmissions and would work with a little elbow grease would that not be worth the time and money that anyone would spend

anything is possable with a lot of money to make it work, I do know the contour svt trans wont go! I think... the other one I'm really not to sure! It would be cool, to see if somebody could shoehorn one in!

All depends on the bellhousing. If you can make it work, then the rest shouldn't be too big of a problem (mounting points, halfshaft lengths, etc.)

Bellhousing is different. So you would need an adapter.

the MTX-75 is some what worse than what we already have and more expensive.

Didn't one of the 5-speed Gen. 3s have a tranny out of a Mazda 6?

My whole point of this thread is to find out if the mazda 6 six speed will bolt up to the 3.0l or not if it will take work to make it work that is fine but if it is a was of time I dont want to bother and waste my money. In this day and age who can afford to waste money.....

i love the idea i was thinking about this and talking to somedude about this today i think it would be bad a$$ to fit a mazda 6 auto trans with the manual mode 6 spd on a 3.2

Yes the Mazda 6 does work with the V8, Ryan used the V6 SHO trans in his conversion, I believe there's video of them drag racing in Kalmazoo.
