My trans is now spread all over the bench at my Tech's shop.
HISTORY: Rebuilt about two years ago, TransGo kit installed. LPM with full firm shift software installed. In August of this year, it broke an accumulator spring and was duly fixed. Since the trans had really never shifted like I thought it should, I had the tech re-check the valve body with another new Trans-go kit. He said that there were some updates and drilled some holes that he didn’t do the first time. (He has rebuilt hundreds of these transmissions, but this was the first time he used a TransGo kit in an AXOD-E)

When I got it back, the transmission worked better, but started doing something that no car I have ever owned has done. It would work fine for about a week, then, it would slip horribly. I got to the point where I could tell when it was not going to work. When putting it in gear, if you could feel a firm engagement everything would be fine. If it was very soft going into gear it was going to slip. By slipping, when cruising at, say 40MPH and gently accelerating to 50, the engine would go all the way to the rev limiter (if you let it) and the car would go no faster. This would last a day or so, the go back to normal. I took it back, the Tech drove it, of course it was working fine, and gave it back to me. Until two weeks ago, I never could catch it slipping when I could get it back to the shop. Finally showed the Tech that it was slipping. He tore it down but could really find nothing wrong.
Anybody seen anything like this? I am ready to give up on this trans and step up to one of Doug Lewis’s transmissions.
Really frustrating.
Have to maintain a positive attitude... I positively HATE the AXOD-E! wink
Sorry for the long post

half-way there, I think.
Sounds like there might be some foreign material floating around. I had something similar happen with 700r4. Had a bit of material blocking a valve body opening - but didn't happen all of the time.

That's just what we thought, when he checked the valve body, he didn't find anything. The transmission seems like it's losing pressure. He is going to replace all of the solenoids and an int. piston.
Does anyone make an adaptor that will bolt up a Top Loader? I know my way around the inside of these transmissions. (After a few 2:00AM, in a motel parking lot at the Winternationals) wink
