I have a 99 SHO and there is something amiss in the valve body (had the transmission out of the car and inspected everything else to be good). Question is this, I've replaced all the solenoids and temp sensor but I still have a strange problem. The trans won't shift reliably into OD. And usually when it does it won't stay in OD when any amount of throttle is applied. To that end I have to believe the valve body has an issue with it (I've checked the 3-4 accumulator piston and replaced the OD servo piston & OD band). So, if anyone has ever tried to get a VB for a 99 with no OD cancel button on the shifter, you know how hard it is so I'm would be just fine with getting a 96-98 VB and replacing the electronics in it if there are not any casting differences..........

HELP!!!!!!!

Your torque converter is likely on it's way out. Common issue with the Gen 3 SHO.

*edit*
To clarify, the converter is constantly locking and unlocking, which would feel like the car is moving between gears.

The '96-'97 share the same VB, the '98 and '99's that have an OD button share the same VB. I think the '99 without the OD button has yet another version of the VB.
