Im having trouble shifting my car quickly and downshifting can be a bit rough especially 5th down to 4th, sometimes wont lock into first without waiting a few seconds, and there is a quiet ticking in the engine im not sure if it just is a noisy engine or not, do i need a new tranny, flush, syncros, help please

First I would make sure your tranny fluid is fresh and topped off. If new fluid does not improve shifting, then the most likely problem is with the clutch and or throwout bearing.

the fluid is topped off but its like a more solid pink color but looks clean, the clutch has been replaced, and i think it may need a throwout bearing when the car is idling it makes a rattling noise when you push the clutch in goes away, could it be a linkage problem, also the exhaust smells funny and it gets terrible mpgs
