transmission going?

I have a 94 atx and after driving for a little bit when i come to a stop and try to take off the car will rev and then have a nasty bump from the transmission and then the oil light flashes. it feels like i just got rear ended. i belive it could be the tc. any ideas?

It sounds like a slipping transmission to me.

Has it ever been flushed? If not, I would not flush it as it will damage the transmission more.

I'm not really knowledgable when it comes to transmissions, so I'll quit while I'm ahead. :thumb:

This is the same thing I'm going through right now. Trans is on it's last leg. But mine goes to 3k and hit's in gear. Start saving your penny's man. Yeah don't flush it. I think that's what happened to my trans. When I said that to a shop

its not the vss thats new how hard is it to do a atx mtx swap thinking of doing that

If the transmission is at proper level... Well then, you are on limited time.

By the sounds of it, do your rod bearings while the transmission is out. You are getting close there too.

I agree with Mike.

As for how hard is an MTX swap? You need to change subframe and motor mounts amongst other things.

There are countless threads ont he subject if you search.
