Transmission Fluid and Filter Change

So, quick question. Can’t we disconnect the cooler lines and place the return hose in a container full of fresh fluid and the pressure hose into a waste container and start the car on stands and run it in every gear at idle until the pressure hose has only fresh fluid coming out of it? I did it on my previous car 10 Volvo S80 based on a forum post on Sweedspeed.

I think it’s a lot better than doing multiple drains and refills over a year.

Thoughts? Has anyone else done this?
