Tranny Rebuild or Swap?

Hey I have a simple question - well what I think is a simple question. What is the more reasonable thing to do? Rebuild or Swap a transmission? My SHO has been hard shifting from 1st to 2nd under moderate acceleration. And when I try to accelerate quickly on the freeway it will slip into neutral. Anyone have any ideas that could keep me from doing either?
