Well I had a minor (?) leak. Thanks to Ransom for advising to check the large nut where the speedo cable goes into. It was very loose. I tightened it up. Well since then, I haven't driven it except pulling it out of the garage. Now I see a leak at the rubber boot that the cable shifter runs to (the large one that is directly touching the tranny. It appears to have an air hole of some sort, that is where it is leaking. What means this?

No the rubber boot on the tranny gear selector shaft is supposed to have that hole in it. The boot is a rubber accordian type boot so the hole lets air in and out as it compresses and releases so that it doesn't stick together and bind. Behind the boot is a tranny seal though and that's prolly where it's leaking from and getting into the boot. Eventually the fluid will just drip out the hole in the boot though. It probably just needs a new tranny seal at the gear selector shaft.
