I have noticed lately on my 99 SHO, while driving at highway speeds (70-80) that my rpm's raise slightly from time to time, kinda like just before it shifts.Could my tranny be the problem? Im almost at the 60K mark so i planned on getting the 60K tune up soon and all.Any ideas?

If you have your A/C or climate control on, I believe the slight fluctuation in RPMs is normal as the fans etc. are turning off and on.

 Fans have nothing to do with it! It is your torque converter locking and unlocking due to the a/c engaging and disengaging. The computer is programed to do this so there is no loss of power when the AC kicks in as AC takes horsepower.

Although the tune up interval is 100k I feel that at 50-60 k it is time for new plugs and clean the intake. You can also move the rear coils forward and address any melting wire issues before they become a problem.

When my tranny went out on my sable it went out very abruptly and all the gears went out at once.
