tranny go bang :(

ok so i was driving the other day in a straight line got on it a bit no spin got to 55 and tranny went bang. looked behind me gear oil and oil ******* and burning out the back. do a u turn head home and axle clunks and bangs locks up tire. replaced axle stil;l doing it obviously i need to replace the rear main and trans seals but whats with the axle bang it will literally lock my tire and steering wheel.????????????????????????????????????????????? HELP should i start looking for a tranny :busted:

Sounds like you need a new tranny WITH a reinforced diff so it dosen't happen again.

Been there, done that.

My Daily driver has a reinforced diff that I welded myself, and my nasty plus has a quaife.

You gotta pay to play with these cars. A Quaife or Wavetrack may seem expensive at first, until you blow a tranny. Now you need to find a used tranny and swap it in. Chances are that you may have gotten atf fluid on the clutch when the diff shot apart. This means you need a clutch as well!

ok so you know the tranny go bang upon inspection i noticed a giant crack going from the rear of the tranny where the shifter bolts on up :( wtf coulda caused that i have pictures but dont know how or where to post

That is probably from hard shifting. Do you have solid mounts or bushings. Someone on here custom makes a rod shifter boss brace. who is it?

From hard shifting?! It's more like excessive wheel spin and about 150,000 miles without changing roll pins or trans fluid
