I have transmission fluid leaking out of my spedo cable and it drips onto my feet when driving, can I just replace the cable or are there other parts that may need to be replaced also, i did a tranny swap and niether car had this problem before.

Wierd. Does your tranny have too much fluid in it? Is the vent cap plugged or something? I think if you are getting tranny fluid through the cable then the part that goes into the tranny would be bad, in which case you should only have to replace that part. Your upper cable should be well lubed and I wouldn't see a need to replace it. Are you positive that it is tranny fluid? I just woulda thought that if the fluid could come up the cable it would leak out at the connection in the engine bay first.

I've heard of this before on SHOs - I can't remember if it was someone on SHOtimes or in our local club. The trans was actually run dry and ruined from this. Apparently a little fluid was making it into the interior, but most of it was leaking out where the upper and lower speedo cable connect.

I believe there is a gasket or seal where the speed sensor plugs into the transmission that can go bad and cause fluid to be sucked up the speedo cable.

It'd be a good idea to check it out, and make sure you check your fluid level, too!

Good luck!
