tranny fluid change

Im changing the fluid on the 99,Im just dropping the pan and replacing the filter,not flushing.How much fluid is it gonna take to replace,I think its 13 qts but I just wanna be sure

I think it's more like 5 if you're only dropping the pan. Check V8SHO.com to be sure.

Well just got done,we had the tranny serviced at a local dealer when we bought the car (83,000)they never changed the filter or even dropped the pan!128.00 to flush the fluid out,no wonder it was shifting rough.It took a little over 7 quarts,and the tranns shifts like butter now.I dont think the pan had ever been dropped so the filter had 110,000 on it.Im surprised the thing lasted and didnt :hpoop: out a while ago.
