The diff went on the original trans of the car, so I got another one, sat on it for a month, and went to go replace it this morning with a new Clutch and it seems the new tranny is no better then the old. First off, the shifter will not move into 2, 4, and reverse. I'm talking, PHYSICALLY it will not go in. Only goes into 1st, 3rd, and 5th. In the neutral position, wiggling it from left to right requires extreme force. Now the car drives in first, but thats its. Manuvering the shifter into the reverse position will trigger the reverse light, but the shifter doesn't slide into the (gate?), and the car doesn't move.

Also there's tranmission fluid gushing from where the tranny mount is. I'm ready to just roll this damn car off a cliff :madflame:. Here are my questions. . . . . .

1. Me not being able to put the car in ANY gear, except 1st, 3rd, and 5th be a sign that the tranmission is bad?

2. If the car doesn't stall, if your in 1st, and you WALK out the car, does that mean bad tranny, or clutch?

3. Is there ANY type of seal in the area of the tranny mount, that could leak out the tranny fluid?

What you should know is that before we pulled the old tranny, the car was driving fine, going into every gear, PLUS reverse and the shifter didn't fell like there was someone pulling in the opposite direction of every position I tried to put it in. Also EVERYTHING is new.

I've got $3 to my name (no wait, just found 50 cent) because of this DAMN car. Would it be a bad thing if I tried to suck back up the Mobile 1 fluid Syn thats all over the floor ? It sucks that I love these car so much. . . . . . . . :nut:

The only 2 ways to get tranny fluid to drip from the mount are:
1. cracked case.
2. it's the power steering cooler line.

not being able to get it into gear sounds like a linkage problem, but it could be internal trans problems as well. take the linkage off and try to put it into all the gears by hand right up on the trans. Its hard but still doable and if that works then you know its your linkage.:thumb:

We tried that. It was VERY hard. Tried on the old tranny, and it was like butter, so more then likely after just getting off the phone with him, the trannies shot.

Also, I'll check on the PS cooler line. Thanks!
