So I'm thinking I need a new TPS so I pop by Napa (Canada) to see about availibility and cost, and I give him my spec's (1994 ATX with 3.2) and the guys goes,

"there are 6 different TPS's for that make, model, and engine"

Is this correct? Why so many and what one do I need.

Thanks all!

There should only be 2... FWIW, the 3.0 and 3.2 have different throttle position sensors. Was he referring to brands of TPS?

He said he needed the OEM number off the one in the car already. So was he just saying there were different brands? What a tard. He made it sound like there was different kinds and that I needed to tell him what part I needed.

I feel used

Okay, that is good to know, but why all the others available?

Next time always double check with rockauto.com for part numbers , they are rarely wrong. Cant say that about local parts stores (in Canada at least)
