There are numerous possibilities - what are the exact codes that exist? (btw, the auto parts store should scan it for free, if you need to have it done again to get the details.)

Any idea how old the tranny fluid and filter are? A fluid flush and filter may be in order.

Way overdue for a fluid change and filter. Every 30,000 miles is what is recommended.

Unplugged plug after engine work is possible, but one which only throws a TQ Converter code and still drives beautifully is very unlikely.

I'd change the fluid and filter, clear the codes, drive the car for a while and see if the codes stay away.

watch out it isnt always good to just change the fluid if its really over due. like if it has 100k on that fluid i wouldnt change it!

alot of the clutch material is in the fluid, doing so may **** your trans!

If it's a P1744 code all the fresh fluid in the world isn't gonna fix it. You'll need a new converter and converter seal at a minimum, and probably a stator support which means disassembling the tranny which means just get a full rebuild.
