I ran this with the seats removed and a K&N panel filter:
60' 2.276
1/8th 9.643 @ 72.108
1/4 14.966 @ unknown

And a [email protected] with just the rear seat removed, K&N panel and Mccord Power plate exhaust cut-out.

Update:
.695 2.271 9.726 77.58 14.893 93.39

Ran this at Lapeer Dragway in Michigan this weekend. Mods are as follows; K&N panel, ceramic coated intake, e-cutout, no rear seat, power steering UDP, FPS tuning via SCT X-Calibrator. I'm confident it would have been a 14.7 in cooler weather.

Very good!!

I don't see beefed axles in your list. Better carry some spares when you run those times with the Nittos (ask Mark & Josh!!)

DOn't remember exactly how many miles were on the 3.2, 130K? I did rebuild the entire engine though. Rings, rods, mains, and complete gasket set.
Here is the exact slip:

1ST Run
8:12 PM

R/T .141
60' 2.499
330' 6.182
660' 9.182
MPH 80.88
1000' 11.764
1/4 13.917
MPH 106.06

My 2nd run I had massive wheel hop, and it shot out of first gear! I thought I broke an axle again, but I put it back into first, and she kept going. Here's the 2ns run.

2nd
8:39PM
R/T .358
60' 3.903
330' 7.823
660' 10.975
MPH 78.34
1000' 13.619
1/4 15.808
MPH 104.49

HOLY TOP END CHARGE BAT MAN!!! :dribble:

You are leaving a few tenths on the table with the 60' times. With the Ntto DRs, a 2.0 should not be out of reason. That would help you a bunch!

Tom Wallenhorst has gotten his '93 ATX with juice into the 13.50s with Nittos. Don't know what his 60' times were, though.

Nice times Brian! Good to hear this HDPP is holding up better than the last. :bonk: What were the track conditions? I have a serious N20 set-up in the works...I should have a time right up there near the top when its done.

The track and weather conditions we're great. Very cold and sticky. I just couldn't get a good launch. Anything over 2500RPM = SHO BOOM for the CV shaft! I should be able to run a mid 13 if I could get the launch down. I never thought the day would come when I was making more power than I could use. God I love SHO's. :hail:

I assume that's making more "power"!! There are enough people around "making more poser"!!

A couple of things to do, which are basic FWD drag-car stuff (and that I thought about, but never did with my MTX SHOs), is to lock down the rear suspension, and possibly also the front suspension. Basically what some import drag guys do. Also, way back maybe 10 years ago, Car Craft (IIRC) ran a test on a bone-stock SSEi Bonneville. All they did was suspension mods (Air Lift air springs in the rear (not available for the Taurus), tighter front end, and other stuff I've forgotten). They took it from about a 15.4 down to about a 14.6-14.8 without touching anything in the engine compartment.

What I considered for the rear were a set of short bars (adjustable would be nice) that could be bolted between the suspension and body to effectively lock the rear susension for strip-use only. Should only take a few minutes to install at the track

The front-end thoughts revolved around a short piece of heavy cable from the front suspension to the strut housing in the body. This would limit front-end rise, but allow a bit of suspension compression for small bumps. Done properly, should also only take a few minutes to install at the track. Again, a strip-only setup.

No reason why a SHO with DRs can't be under a 2.0 60' time. The suspension just needs some help for drag use (plus good axles!!)

I think i deserve the 5th spot on the N/A ATX list. :)

Ran a 15.22 @ 90.87 Mph.

Heres the slip to prove it. I'm in the left lane, on both slips.

Good run!!

Now, just work on knocking that 60' down to the 2.1 - high 2.0 range, and you can shave another coupla tenths.
