I would say that NJSHO is correct about most drivers not knowing about how to use the Konis properly. Also, the Konis do take a little bit of time to install, about an extra 30 minutes per strut if you work slow (note: most shops won't do it for you). If you like a get it and forget it type of ride, then the Tokicos are the way to go. As for the "worrying" about getting the right Koni:
Fronts 8641-1287-S all years
Rears 8641-1288-S 89-92
Rears 8641-1323-S 6/92-95
As for the springs, I can attest to 4 of the 5 main types/brands of springs being noticably different. Stock is good for the everyday driver and someone who doesn't want to sacrifice any comfort for handling. Eibachs are the closest to stock yes, but still offer a much firmer ride and a bit of a lower ride height (about 1" front .75" rear IIRC). Intrax are stiff, too stiff for my liking for street driving, but excelent for the track and do lower the car more than the Eibachs (about 1.5" front and 1" rear). Coilovers are rediculously harsh and awful for street driving (ie - bouncing honda). I do not have any experience with the SHOShop linears.
As for the spring rates/types. The stock ones are not progressive (200 lbs/in. front and 160 lbs/in. rear). Eibachs are progressive (150-260 lbs/in, rear spring rate is 150-194 lbs/in). Intrax are also progressive (I couldn't find any specs, only found that they are ~20% stiffer than stock). Coilovers usually have over 400 lbs/in IIRC.
Price: How much did you find your Tokicos for? I got my Koni's for $520 shipped.
FWIW - I'm not saying that you should get any of the items I've talked about, just letting you know the details.
Anywho, I'm done.
