Tires !!

Well I'm ready to try a new size of tires for my SHO ,what do you brothers think about the 275/40/20 tires? Pros & cons ?? Are they going to scrape anything around the fenders?? Who likes them and who don't? Thank you for your input !

I like them. Look a lot beefier and with slightly wider wheels than stock they sit flush with the fenders. Anytime I go back to stock wheels/tires the car just looks goofy with them sunken in from the body. No rubbing issues on stock suspension. I know others are lowered and have said they don't rub either.

No issues here even with H&R, 9.5 - ET40 wheels. They look awesome.

I've heard they do, but my wheels are aftermarket and are 9", so no personal experience with them fitting on stock wheels.

I went 255/45/20 and the fronts are damn close to the fender roll inside...

No. It is tight but there is still room there. There is a shinny spot in the front plastic inner fender protector (or whatever it is called), I believe it touches when turning 100% AND the suspension is on a weird angle, like going over a bump or something. Had these for two years and have never heard a rubbing noise, so it's very minor contact from the inside edge of the tire under "extreme" circumstances.

There are other members also running 275-40's all around.

Mine are 8.5 inches wide and +38 offset. I kinda want to throw a spacer on the rears.

Mine are 28.7 inches tall and 9.6 inches wide. That recess of 2 mm on my rims really makes a difference.

Yea, mine are pretty tight on the front... I have more room in the rear... the shop was concerned with clearance initially... they barely fit up front. I could have gone to a 255/40/20 and it wouldn’t have filled it soo much... but I wanted sidewall.

Do you still recommend the continentals? I’ve recently transitioned to a truck as a daily driver and will be garaging the SHO. What’s recommended for the stop light to stop light Grand Prix? I want the edge on digs.

Stay 20sand go with continental

I came extremely close to trying a new tire with my car than my Continental Extreme Contact DW tires....I think they're discontinued or called Sport now. I have about 7k miles on them. They've been a great tire. I went staggered bc BPD1151 did so I wanted to too lol! 245/40/20 front and 275/35/20 in rear with Mickey Thompson Sc-5 20x9 wheels with +32 offset. Best 60ft is 1.72 so they really are decent. Little spinning but for a 300 series tire one of the best!

I keep the 275's in the rear and with 1" hubcentric wheel spacers it looks mean! Last year I put the 275's upfront for the track. I'm interested in 275/40/20 tires on all four but then I don't think I could use my spacers...plus my tires are lighter than 40's so sticking with them for now.
