well, I just got a white 93 ATX sho off ebay with 69K miles.
I also just ordered a set of gen.3 chromes to put on her. I need a good all around tire (not really concerned with snow)... mainly track times. But MOSTLY- all around.
So, I hear tirerack.com is the place to go. ANyone have suggestions as far as make and size?

Tirerack.com is good, thats where I ordered my tires from, but I think next time I'm going to go to Discount Tires, or tires.com. I've been told they'll match tirerack's price, and they also mount them and I'm pretty sure the road hazard stuff is included, but not sure. I got Pirelli P7000 Supersports, which are all seasons, but they also make them which aren't rated all seasons. I really like them, although I dont know how they work in a track situation.

BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDWS. $93/tire. Awesome.
I'll second that. Or even KDW.

I've had both (KDW and KDWS), with KDW on the car now. The KDW is a little stickier if you do track events, but the KDWS is no slouch, either. The KDWS is truly amazing on longevity, though. I really had to flog those things to get them to wear out.

Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's. Great tire unless it snows.
silica based tread compound + agressive tread design = ****** cold weather traction.

I got mine mainly due to the price. they were $75 a piece, and i couldn't afford RE 750's. They handle well in the wet and give fairly good traction in the dry. takes a bit of work to get them to smoke. and even then it's very short lived. biggest thing to do is get a better sized tire. 215/65/16 sucks big time. 225/55(or 50)/16 is much better.

The kuhmos are a great tire unless you are going to autocross on them. If you build up some heat in them, they get very slimy and go away pretty fast. I don't think you could do that on the street, though.

I have liked the BFG G-Force the best so far.
I had some Yokohoma avid H4's that were also pretty decent

I hated my general xp2000
I also hated my goodyear regatta's
I had a set of tigerpaw somethin or other when I bought my one sho...they were junk

I just put Kuhmo hp716's on my 89 probe...and they stick pretty good. For the price they can't be beat. However...I don't think Iwould stick them on my SHO.

OH you didn't know
I put a set of B.F. Goodrich KDWS on my buddy's GENIII and he loves them! Either those or the Yokohama ES100 are great choices. I had Kumho 712's on my mustang and did not like them.

Continental ContiExtremeContact is a great all season tire, and cheap too.

Also the Falken Ziex series is good. The older ones had some noise issues but those seem to be cleared up by now.

I have the contis on my car as my 'winter' tire at teh moment and I like them...I paid a little over 100cdn to have them installed and they ride nicely for a touring tire...
